Box of Hope

Box of Hope

Poverty robs a person of many things. Often one of the most important losses is self-respect. Giving Children Hope provides a sense of dignity with our "Box of Hope" containing necessary hygiene products to help families in need.

Our Box of Hope has been received by people around the world, from the desolate areas of Afghanistan to the motel units of Orange County, wherever people have lost a sense of being able to care for their families, and face a new day.

Each Box of Hope contains enough hygiene to meet the needs of a family of four for one month. Such items as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, hair products, lotions, over-the-counter medications (aspirins, pain relief, and lice treatments) and children's vitamins are included in this Box. When sent to third-world countries, or crisis locations, the Box of Hope will contain Hygiene packs, which have at least seven to a Box, caring for the needs of several families throughout their personal crises.

In 2002, Giving Children Hope sent over 3000 hygiene packs to Afghanistan in support of the needs of those people in the Masr-e-Sharif areas who suffered for many years under the Taliban. This shipment went along with school supplies to set up a new school for thousands of children.

At the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, Giving Children Hope was there to bring hygiene packs and toys to the many people who were victimized by the terrorist attacks. These materials helped restore a sense of self to the families in New York/ New Jersey, whose lives were adversely affected by the loss of jobs at the World Trade Towers.
