International

School children in Iraq benefit from school supplies sent by GO&D.

Global Operations and Development is committed to the education of children around the world by shipping school supplies (i.e. pencils, notebook paper and backpacks) to orphanages and schools in Russia, Bosnia, and Iraq.

Many children in these countries lack basic school supplies, impeding their education.

Domestic

Lutheran High soccer teammates prepare educational supplies for Iraq.

Children from a variety of backgrounds are learning the value of investing into the community. Some come during holidays for no other reason than to give of their time for the fulfillment of giving. Others come from schools, sport teams, churches or community organizations to participate in reaching out locally as well as worldwide. Lutheran High soccer teammates from Orange, CA assisted in putting together personal care items and educational supplies for Iraq. During this time, they learned about the customs of Iraq and that soccer is now a favorite past time in a country that once lived in constant fear.

Colorado Youth Mission teams prepare bags of groceries for domestic distribution.

As students are preparing shipments for a specific country, they learn about similarities and appreciate cultural differences. Groups from churches have learned the dynamics of working together as a team as they have gift wrapped presents and distributed bags of groceries to those in need.

Relationships and social skills are enhanced as young adults serve the community and the world. More than anything, young people learn at an early age the value of giving to society and that giving is an essential ingredient for the good of mankind.

Students from Colorado Youth Mission also learned to serve the community by preparing gift bags for the poor and needy in Placentia, CA. They also assisted with a food distribution and provided entertainment for needy children.
